In 2013, I had the opportunity to work on my first paper project on the occasion of the release of the next video clip of the rap duo Casseurs Flowters (Orelsan and Gringe), directed by David Tomaszewski.

I was working in a special effects makeup studio at the time and the initial project was based on the idea that we would make their heads out of paper.
As I was familiar with 3D modeling software, I was asked to make a prototype; which I built using my own head.

I modeled my head in 3D and applied a projection of my face in 2 dimensions in order to recreate the volumes.
Once the prototype was finished, we sent it to the customers who immediately validated it in order to produce the final version with their faces.

Originally, we were only supposed to make the heads. However, seeing the results, the Casseurs Flowters were excited to reproduce their entire bodies.
And while we're at it, why not also make robot costumes in which we could slip two dancers for the filming of their video clip?

The design of the four costumes required a team of around 6 people to cut and assemble the equivalent of 450 A4 paper sheets in the span of a week.
